1. Revisit last night to-do list.
Successful people create a to-do list for the next day, the night before. They know going to sleep what needs to be done the next day. This is how they stay productive and to ensure no time is lost the next morning.
Meditation is a consistent ritual many successful people follow. It allows the mind to reset and focus. In a digital age, where many of us reach for emails or social media first thing, meditation can keep us distracted in a good way. Meditation can also put us into what is called a “theta” state. It is a brain wave state where creativity is at its highest. (The same way you have the best ideas in the shower, or just before you are about the sleep.)
Obviously moving is good for your health, but it also allows your brain to wake up and start thinking. You can either do your main workout now, or if you prefer, someone people just find a light walk or stretching is enough to get them started for their day.
4. Do the hardest task first
There is such thing called “willpower fatigue.” It is a theory that your willpower is at is highest in the morning and gradually as your put off all those tasks you don’t want to do, your willpower declines. By the night, it can practically be gone. You know how you can be so healthy during the day, then at night…..? yeah, same.
How can you make the most of your day? What is going to take the most time? What can be done in between errands? Strategising is an important morning routine designed to maximum your time and have high yield productivity.
6. Have a high quality first meal
To keep your blood sugar in the best shape to ensure you don’t experience energy drops throughout the day, your nutrition is the most important thing in your first meal. Protein and fats combined are your best friend. If you choose to have carbohydrates with breakfast, keep it of the wholegrain variety. Fast acting sugars will only cause a crash, that you will need to fix with more low quality sugars before noon.
